Confederate Memorial Day - May 10th
Saturday, May 10th, 11am at Mt Hope Cemetery. Bring a friend - tell somebody. Lets have over a hundred in attendance this year again! Plan now to come!

Friends of the Florence Stockade Grand Opening - May 31st
The Friends of the Florence Stockade will be conducting a Grand Opening of the Florence Confederate Prison Stockade Memorial Park on May 31st, 2008 at 12:00 Noon. The ceremony will be conducted at the informational gazebo located approximately 150 yards west of the end of Stockade Road. We anticipate both infantry and artillery re-enactors to be present for this important historical event. After the ceremonies, the Stockade will be open to the public to enjoy the walking trails that will carry them back 140+ years to the time when the Stockade was operational. Visitors will be able to walk the trails that will carry then throughout the stockade, view the berms, moats, entrenchments, rifle pits and artillery redans that were constructed in 1864 to house and guard Union prisoners of war.
