In 1988, Mr. Frank McKain and others placed their private collection of War Between The States artifacts on display for the public to see.  That was the beginning of the WBTS Museum.  The museum then moved into the McKain House in 1989 where the collection has rapidly grown.  Mr. Carl Hill has faithfully kept the Museum open and running as executive director for ten years now.  In addition to the artifacts, the museum boasts a library of rare manuscripts and a nice gift shop.
